Chupacabracon III

Fri, 13 May 2016 to Sun, 15 May 2016

Welcome to the new Chupacabracon site.

Now, we're going tell you right up front, this is a new site and is probably going to experience some issues. Please have a little patience with us as we work them out. If you do run into something unexpected, troublesome, or just plain irritating, please use the contact page to let us know. Right from the beginning we are only taking GM and volunteer registrations while we make sure our payment system is set up properly.

So, now that we have that out of the way...

Chupacabracon III is taking place just outside of Austin, TX in Round Rock. We've secured a pretty amazing venue which should make this, our third Chupacabracon, a lot more fun and interactive. We'll be holding the event at the Windham Hotel and Conference Center right off the 35 freeway. So that means easier access. Note, we said hotel. That means, like the first year, you'll be able to stay on-site all weekend if you choose to (or are from out of town). One of our key requirements this year was an on-site lounge, somewhere our guests and attendees could grab a drink and hang out during and after the event. Done. The venue also has a lounge and lobby area for casual get-togethers outside the convention proper.

This year's conference is already shaping up to be an amazing one. We've got a great list of guests attending this year. Many of the authors and creators from last year are returning this year and bringing some friends with them. If you're keen on meeting some of the people who created your favorite games, check out our guest list. You may be surprised at who's going to be here.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is to register early and come back often. We have made the conscious decision to keep our convention under a thousand people. We want to keep the small convention feel and the best way to do that is to stay small. This is being done to make sure our guests have as much fun as the rest of the attendees. At larger events the organizers have their special guests running all over the place with panels and the like. They don't get to have the interaction with you, the players, as they want. Well, we're not going to stand for that here, in Austin (greater metropolitan area).

So, click on over to the registration tab and sign up. This is going to be a lot of fun and you really should be part of it.

News & Updates

Chupacabracon.com Open For GM Registration

The new and improved Chupacabracon.com is available for GMs to sign up and submit games. In the past we've had, well let's say "issues" with our web site. The first year tried to roll our own and that was a disaster. We ended up abandoning any GM registration and event management in that site for Warhorn. Warhorn functioned, but again, was rather cludgy. Our second year we tried Warhorn again. This time we were hoping the improvements they made would improve things. Once again this proved less than efficient. So this year we went back to rolling our own.
